Director of National Sales – Wixom, MI

We are a growing lower middle market company looking for a Director of National Sales. The Director position is responsible for establishing the sales targets to meet the company objectives and developing strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction for the organization. A willing to roll up your sleeves and participate directly in strategy development, execution and problem solving is essential to your success in this position.

Essential Functions

  • Develops annual sales plan in support of organization strategy and objectives.

  • Identifies growth areas and key customers.

  • Directs the creation, development and execution of Key Account Plans.

  • Recommends sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses.

  • Implements approved distribution strategies.

  • Manages multiple channel selling strategies.

  • Oversee the development of a comprehensive marketing communication strategy in the furtherance of the company’s growth initiatives.

  • Builds, develops and manages sales team capable of carrying out needed sales and service initiatives.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Competencies Required

  • Experience managing a sales force selling to industrial MRO customers REQUIRED.

  • Experience selling material handling products preferred.

  • Understanding of basic managerial finance concepts such P&L analysis, Gross Margin analysis, etc.

  • Strong Problem Solving/Analysis skills required.

  • Results-driven strategic thinker.

  • Collaborative leadership style.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is directly responsible for leading employees.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

This position requires frequent travel, approximately 50% Most travel is outside the local area and overnight. Some of the travel is international.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, sales, marketing or related field.

  • 10 years leading industrial sales in an MRO customer environment.

Salary: $100,000.00 to $120,000.00 /year
