Fiber Boards
Medium-Density Fiber Board (MDF) is a much cheaper alternative to HDPE for shelving and countertops that will not splinter like plywood. MDF will chip, stain, and warp with use and is only recommended for extremely-tight budgets.
Melamine is laminated with a visually-pleasing and protective layer of plastic. It will not stain or absorb surface moisture like MDF and is much easier to clean. It requires specialty machining tools to cut without chipping its laminate.
Foam Boards
Cross-Linked Polyethylene Foam (XLPE) is a durable, chemical-resistant, dense closed-cell foam perfect for dunnage and shadow boards.
Expanded Polyvinyl Chloride (Expanded PVC) is a light-weight, rigid, durable closed-cell foam used for signage.
Plastics
High-Density Polyurethane (HDPE) is our most common material due to its versatility and cost. HDPE is an opaque, chemical-resistant plastic which we well in black or white. It is the best solution for cost-effective shelving and countertops.
Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene (UHMW) shares the same properties as HDPE while being abrasion-resistant and strong. Most importantly, UHMW is anti-static and the right choice for electronic and semi-conductor applications.
Polycarbonate (PC) is a clear and extremely tough plastic. It is great when a transparent plastic is needed such as enclosing a gravity flow rack without blocking the sight of flowing parts.
Corrugated/Fluted Polypropylene is a lightweight, but strong material that is great for dunnage and dust shields. Like corrugated cardboard, it can also enclose a structure without undue weight to it.
