Regional Account Manager – Charlotte, NC

As a Regional Industrial Account Manager, you will be responsible for the management of sales and relationships within the defined territory/customer base. As part of highly visible role the regional account manager will ensure that all process and procedures are being followed when quoting customers, enabling growth through customer development and new customer relations. The Account Manager serves to understand the customer’s needs, plan how to meet those needs, and generate sales to meet individual and company goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow profitable sales that meet or exceed the company's sales target.

  • Become the company champion in order to manage and identify opportunities within existing accounts for adjacent sales opportunities and cross selling activities.

  • Act as liaison with between NIS and customers, develop knowledge of NIS operations as well of those of the customer to enable effective communication between both organizations in a timely fashion. Meet time deadlines for key milestones as dictated by customer needs.

  • Collaborate with all shareholders in other departments working on the same account.

  • Establish budgets and sales forecasts for the customer and company.

Qualifications:

A successful candidate for this position must be professional, proactive and possess a positive sense of urgency with internal and external customers. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 5+ years in B2B sales in an industrial environment preferably in material handling industry or MRO sales of machine parts or equipment sales.

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to do presentations to “shop floor and management”.

  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work with limited supervision.

  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to explain how and why specific conclusions were reached.

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read customer prints is useful.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and to remain flexible to changing schedules and demands.

  • Must be available to travel to customer sites as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or technical accreditation is preferred but not required.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.

  • Prefer experience reading and interpreting CAD, Unigraphics/NX blueprints.

  • Working knowledge of personal computer, keyboard, and various software programs.

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have reliable transportation to work.

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
